Luis Alberto Suárez Díaz ( 1987) isa Uruguayan footballer who plays as a striker. He currently plays for Atletico Madrid and the Uruguayan national team.

Nicknamed El Pistolero ("The Gunman")[9], Suárez began his career in the basic categories of Nacional in 2003. The 19-year-old moved to the Netherlands to play for Groningenbefore moving to Ajax in 2007. In 2010, he won his first title for Ajax, the KNVB Cup,and finished the season as top scorer in the Dutch Championship,winning the Dutch Footballer of the Year award. The following season, he helped Ajax secure the national title,scoring his 100th goal in the club's shirt. In his first season for Barcelona, Suárez starred in an attacking trio alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar (in what became known as the "MSN trio"), helping the club win its second triple crown: La Liga, Copa do Rei and Champions League. The "MSN trio", that season, scored 122 goals, which was the highest number of goals scored in history by an attacking trio in Spanish football. Suárez was the subject of controversy throughout his career. In addition to "saving" the goal with his hands for the World Cup quarterfinal match against Ghana, he has bitten opponents on three occasions. Heis alsoknownfor faking fouls and has already been charged with it. In 2011, the FA found him guilty of racism against Patrice Evra,a decision that Suárez disputes. In 2020, he was charged with fraud in an attempt to obtain Italian citizenship to transfer to Juventus.
