Cally and I both picked up a pair of Gore-Tex Bibs by Dakine this year and we’re both equally obsessed. The Men's Stoker Gore-Tex 3L Bib by Dakine is comfortable, keeps me dry, and fits really well. My most favorite feature of the Stoker Bib is probably also the most obvious feature – they’re bibs.

Not only is Gore-Tex guaranteed to keep you dry, it’s also very breathable which is what makes these the ultimate backcountry shred pant. On the way up, your temp will still regulate and on the way down you won’t get drenched from knee deep pow. In addition to Gore-Tex these bibs are also built with YKK® AquaGuard water resistant zippers and fully taped seams. No matter what kind of elements you find yourself in, the Stoker Bib will keep you dry.

Sometimes I feel as though Dakine gear fits me a little snug but these fit great. I do like how Dakine has a consistent system of how they explain their fit system. These fall in the Tailored Fit category. I’m 200 pounds and 6’0 tall and the large is a perfect fit. They’re plenty long, not too tight in the thigh and I can still move freely on the mountain. I’m a tele-skier (but you probably already knew that. How do you know you’re at a party with a tele-skier? Oh they’ll let you know) so I need the ability to be able to move and bend without restriction.

The ample pockets throughout the bibs are another source of my love for these. There are a lot of pockets and they’re all usable. As well as many pockets, there’s also a Quick Fly hidden zipper so you don’t have to unzip your jacket or your bibs to go pee. It’s a simple feature really but it’s quite nice and can be fast and easy.

The Stoker Bibs have and will continue to take some abuse over the years and I’m confident that they’ll stand up to it. The material is durable and there is reinforcement where you need it. Especially since I’m droppin my knee, the knee reinforcement is so sweet. There is also reinforcement at the ankle and a strip of reinforcement all the way around the cuff. I have yet to mar these pants and that’s pretty impressive.

I tend to run warm and so I like the breathable mesh backing of the bibs. It allows for ample airflow and a nice fit no matter how many layers I have on. You can also unzip the inner thigh vents for airflow. One thing that I really would’ve loved to see is an outer leg zip for touring. That’s probably my only complaint with the Stoker bibs so really not too big of a deal.

Whether I’m skiing pow at the resort, touring in the backcountry, or riding snowmobiles, the Stoker Bib by Dakine takes abuse like a boss and keeps me dry and looking fly. I have these paired with the Eliot Jacket by Dakine so be sure and check out that review as well!
