Описание: Germaine Lubin (1890-1979) was one of France's greatest sopranos, most widely known for her interpretations of the works of Richard Wagner. Her debut was in 1912 at the Opéra Comique, and three years later at the Paris Opéra. Her repertoire was quite extensive, including many modern works. She was an immediate success, not only because of her great and powerful voice, but also because she was a very beautiful woman. The general brilliance of her career was somewhat compromised because of a rather extreme personality and some well known political difficulties, not all that uncommon among entertainers and artists during the terribly difficult years in Europe at the time of her career. These details are easily consulted in any good on-line biography .
