The production of thermoformed bowls and cups from plastics or natural materials is always a team effort involving a variety of different roles. Clear messages and status displays help the „operator“ to monitor the production process, add material in time and keep the machine running continuously. Intelligent diagrams, clear animations and descriptive illustrations reduce complexity and familiarization time for the so called „adjuster“. A sophisticated color and form guide system ensures correct assignment of parameters, components and their movement curves – even for people with poor color vision. Formerly abstract functions are now clearly explained and described using a combination of memorable icons and plain text. The innovative, ergonomically designed sidebar ensures short operating paths and maximum space at screen height. Modular machine visualization facilitates navigation and status display, and, like the modular expander controls, they ensure efficient and economical adaptation of the HMI to any equipment variant. The HMI library and guidelines ensure consistency across machines and provide a future-oriented basis for all other Kiefel HMI applications.
