Gujarat moves towards wire free cities with underground networks

Описание: Gujarat is transforming its cities under the Wire-Free City and Wire-Free State Mission by replacing overhead electricity wires with underground cabling. With nearly ₹500 crore allocated for the project, work is progressing across UGVCL, MGVCL, DGVCL and PGVCL zones to improve safety, ensure stable power supply and create cleaner urban spaces. Under the Centre’s RDSS scheme and the state government’s Robust Scheme, thousands of kilometres of power lines have already been shifted underground. As the project expands across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Mehsana and other urban areas, Gujarat is steadily moving towards smarter and safer cities
