Here's a quick summary of how to unload skids without a dock:
Step 1: Construct a support jig with a height equal to that of the floor of the trailer.
Step 2: Utilize a towing rope or a similar material to pass it through the skid and secure it to the forklift using a suitable attachment method.
Step 3: Carefully and slowly pull the skid towards the rear of the truck using the towing rope.
Step 4: Operating the forklift, back the skid out approximately three-fourths of the way out of the truck.
Step 5: Position the support jig on a stringer beam.
Step 6: Slowly pull the forklift away, allowing the support jig to engage and support the weight of the skid.
Step 7: Using the forklift, lift the skid from the side and back the remainder of the skid out of the truck until it is safely on the ground.
