Описание: In the early days of anthropology as a discipline there was an emphasis on studying the so-called primitive or Other; increasing contemporary anthropologist study a variety of phenomena in both their own communities and throughout the globe. Over the course of the twentieth century there were three approaches to cultural anthropology. These are the positivist approach, reflexive approach and multi-sited approach. Each of these has their relative strengths and weaknesses. This section highlights key theorists of anthropology with particular emphasis on U.S. anthropologists.
