If you want to lose weight, build muscle, get rid of your back pain, become stronger, more flexible and improve your cardiovascular fitness, the kettlebell is the only tool you need.
And this workout I’m about to show you will help you reach all of these goals simultaneously AND in a short amount of time!
You see the kettlebell is known for touching all bases of human performance and it does this in a very satisfying manner. You can do the workout at home and you’re not wasting time with busy work on a packed Monday night in a typical gym.
Let’s jump into the workout! The workout is split into two parts.
Part One is the Grinding Phase.
We have three exercises (Deadlift, Press, Front Squat) that we do for 10 reps each which equals one round. We rest 30 seconds in between exercises; as well as 1 minute after we’ve completed one round, and we do 2 rounds total.
Our focus here is to increase strength, build muscle and get lean.For maximum benefit, I recommend two kettlebells in this phase. However, you can also do the workout with a single.
Part Two is the Metabolic Phase.
Again, we work with three exercises (H2H Swing, Clean, Push Press) that we do for 2 minutes each; unbroken; this equals one round. We rest 1 minute after we’ve completed one round and we do 2 rounds total.
This is where we will accelerate fat loss by burning more calories, combat back pain and improve cardiovascular fitness.
Finally as a Finisher, we will incorporate one particular variation of the farmers walk family.We will do this exercise for 2 minutes.
The workout will probably take you about 25-35 minutes total. Male beginners use double 12 kg; advanced double 16 kg. Female beginners can use double 8 kg; advanced double 12 kg.
