STORYLINE:
Super Bowl week kicked off in San Francisco on Tuesday with the Super Bowl Experience opening to fans. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of football-related activities. This year’s final NFL match will also celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence.

“What better way to celebrate one of our country’s biggest milestones in its history than the biggest sport event in our country,” said Rosie Rios, Chair for the America250 Commission. “We launched this partnership in week 18 of the season on January 3rd at a 49ers game.”

Various celebratory elements have been woven into one of the world’s largest sporting events. The America250 logo is featured on footballs and the coin that used during the toss. “Heads is the America250 logo and tails is the NFL logo,” Rios said. After the Super Bowl on Sunday, the NFL will auction some of the special coins that have been used for charity.
