Akris Winter/Cruise 2024 marks the return to the liberated mood of the 1970s. An epilogue of Akris' centennial, celebrating the vital legacy, the past and future, of the house.
“It started with a portrait of her, Bea (Beatriz) Feitler, shot by Bob Richardson in the late Sixties. I love the whole attitude of it – her feeling supremely self-confident in a sleek checked suit with the sleeves rolled up; her hand slightly clenched into a fist. As a graphic designer and the first female art director of Harper’s Bazaar, Bea was a risk-taker, an unstoppable creative force. Feitler searched for a new expression that represented her time, abandoning "the idealized woman", pre-thinking a new everyday aesthetic. She brought to her work what she saw on the streets and felt in the air—the brightly-colored dandyism of youth, the newly emancipated woman.“ - Albert Kriemler
