In this video you can understand swami sivanada's way of how to lead a peaceful life.Swami sivananda is a famous yogi who taught how to live a happy and peceful life and attain self realisation and God realisation. Swami sivananda ways of improving mental peace is of great use to all humans.
Self realization & God realization are the goals of human life. In order to lead a healthy, wealthy and happy life you must follow spirituality (ஆன்மீகம் ). In my channel I published lots of videos to attain peace of mind which can be achieved through self realisation & god realisation.
Swami Sivananda taught that Self-Realization and God-Realization are the ultimate goals, essentially the same: realizing your true nature as the immortal, blissful, non-dual Brahman (Supreme Self) by transcending the ego through practices like discrimination, selfless service (Karma Yoga), devotion (Bhakti Yoga), and meditation, recognizing the divine in all beings and surrendering the personal self to the Universal Self, leading to inner freedom, strength, and joy.
Key Concepts:
The Goal is Discovery, Not Attainment: Self-realization isn't creating something new but uncovering your inherent divine Self (Atman); you are Brahman.
Identity of Self & God: The individual soul (Atman) is identical to the Supreme Soul (Brahman); realizing this unity ends suffering.
Transcend the Ego: The ego (selfishness, "I am the doer") is the main obstacle; dissolving it allows God to fill you.
Path to Realization:
Discrimination (Viveka): Distinguish the Real (Brahman) from the unreal (material world).
Bhakti Yoga (Devotion): Offer all love and actions to God, seeing Him in everyone, surrendering the self (Atmanivedan).
Karma Yoga (Selfless Service): Act without attachment to results, feeling God works through you; this purifies the mind.
Meditation & Japa: Concentrate the mind, repeat God's name, and meditate on the Mahavakyas (Upanishadic sayings about unity).
Cultivate Virtues: Develop serenity (Sama), self-control (Dama), endurance (Titiksha), faith (Sraddha), and focus (Samadhana).
Fearlessness & Renunciation: Give up sensual life and worldly desires to embrace the eternal spiritual life.
Experience of Realization:
Non-Duality: Experience oneness with all, seeing yourself as the universe, the food, the eater.
Bliss & Freedom: Live in limitless joy, freedom, and strength, untouched by worldly troubles.
Inner Power: Realize infinite strength and power within, becoming the architect of your own destiny.
Self-realization is understanding your true, eternal nature as the soul (Atman), while God-realization is the ultimate union or conscious oneness with the Supreme Divine (Brahman/God) through divine grace and pure love (Bhakti). Self-realization is often seen as a step, understanding the inner self, but God-realization is the final goal, transcending the individual self to merge with the universal consciousness, leading to complete peace and resolution of inner conflicts.
Self-Realization
Definition: Realizing your essential self as the immortal soul, distinct from the body and mind. It's recognizing your true identity as a spark of the Divine.
Process: Achieved through personal effort, discipline, and various yogic paths (Jnana, Raja, Karma Yoga).
Experience: Awakening consciousness, wisdom, and understanding your inner being.
God-Realization
Definition: The ultimate spiritual goal, realizing God's presence in everything and experiencing complete absorption in God-consciousness, becoming one with the Divine.
Process: Often requires divine grace, pure love (Bhakti), and surrender, going beyond mere self-knowledge.
Experience: A state of deep peace, where all mental conflicts resolve as one lives by God's will; a complete merger, losing the separate "I".
Key Differences & Relationship
Scope: Self-realization is knowing yourself as divine; God-realization is knowing God in everything and becoming one with Him.
Goal: Self-realization is an admirable step, but God-realization is considered the final, highest aim of existence.
Path: Self-realization can be achieved through intellect and discipline; God-realization often needs devotion, grace, and surrender.
Connection: Realizing the self (Soul) is a pathway that naturally leads towards the ultimate realization of the Supreme (God).
In essence, self-realization is seeing the divine spark within; God-realization is becoming the Divine Ocean itself, through profound love and surrender.
