Killer Whale vs White Shark New Study Reveals Astonishing Predation Tactics

Описание: The Team of the Sharks Studies Center - Scientific Institute (Massa marittima, Tuscany, Italy), made up of the Director Prof. Primo Micarelli, Contract Professor at the University of Siena and the SSC-SI Scientific Coordinator Dr. Francesca Romana Reinero, in coordination and collaboration with Dr. Alison Towner and Dr. Enrico Gennari, has achieved an important result for the Research and Conservation of White sharks and Orcas in South Africa, with the publication of a Rapid communication in the African Journal of Marine Science, online since 1th March, of the SOLO attack of AN ORCA, which highlighted for the first time its impressive predatory capabilities given that, in two minutes, it managed to get the better of the white shark, therefore not hunting in a cooperative way (generally composed of several specimens).
Furthermore, the use of the liver as the main organ of interest by the Orca was documented and photographed. Important event to better understand the dynamics taking place, in order to optimize the forms of Conservation necessary to safeguard the populations of white sharks, which are probably already harshly faced with other problems, including environmental ones, in South Africa.
