Описание: Crews in Chico have begun removing sediment debris from Sycamore Pool at Bidwell Park. The cleanup started recently and is expected to conclude Friday. Questions about water safety were raised. Action News Now reporter Diego Moctezuma explained that while the work aims to remove increased sediment, it will not necessarily improve water quality since Sycamore Pool is a natural body of water. However, the city plans to clean the water weekly. City workers shared that more sediment than usual has accumulated in the pool due to runoff from the recent park fire. The heavy rains this winter have washed material from the burn scar downstream.
