⛪ Agios Nikitas Monastery
Just a short distance away is the Monastery of Agios Nikitas. It is like a green oasis in the dry, rocky landscape. The most amazing part is the small church built inside a cave. From the monastery, you can walk down the stone steps to a stunning, secluded beach.

🌴 The Palm Forest
Right next to the monastery, you will see the Agios Nikitas Palm Forest. This is the third-largest natural palm forest in Crete. The green palm trees against the blue sea and the tall mountains create a view you will never forget.

🚗 How to get there:
Distance: 70km from Heraklion (approx. 1.5 - 2 hours drive).

Access: A 4x4 vehicle is recommended for the dirt road, or you can take a boat from Tsoutsouras for an easier trip.
