At Apereo 2013, Theresa Rowe gave a keynote entitled 'Challenges, Encouragement, and Women in IT - Does it Matter?' This presentation aims to build on that basic foundation to articulate a broader mandate to build diverse teams in higher education IT. By sharing the latest research, we hope to articulate concrete recommendations, explore the complex (and some times conflicting) ways that organizational culture can effect organizational success and provide a platform for ongoing discussion in the Apereo community.
If time allows, we may also delve into recommendations and best practices for managing diverse teams.
