Umdoni Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal says it's taking steps to address
recent service delivery challenges and rebuild community trust.
The municipality was subjected to a Section 154 intervention earlier this week.
It has been plagued by community unrest, ratepayer groups calling for
the removal of the Exco, and the resignation of its municipal manager
and CFO.
KZN Cooperative Governance MEC Thulasizwe Buthelezi has laid out a
30-day plan for local governance expert DD Naidoo to address service
delivery issues, with a special focus on the ongoing water crisis.
