Yesterday was the feast of Pope St. John Paul II, Endow's patron saint! Many refer to him as John Paul the Great because we have heard the stories of his life. He was a man who did incredible things. He survived Nazi Poland, helped put an end to communism in Poland, and brought the gospel to the ends of the earth. 

He was incredibly holy. We know this from the way he prayed, the way he forgave, and the way he loved people. 

As I have read about the lives of great men and women, I have noticed that they all have one thing in common. They all went through deep suffering and somehow found meaning. They used those experiences to propel them into a level of heroism that many of us may never reach.

John Paul did this as well. He suffered much, and he left us much reflection on the Christian meaning of suffering. Jesus Christ has redeemed everything, even our suffering. 

As I go about my day and I see women walking around who look beautiful and polished, I have been reminding myself that each of us has our trials. 

Let us be women who help other women bear suffering in such a way that it brings us into the redemption offer to us by the cross and helps us to become great!
