News Corp Columnist Angela Mollard says French President Emmanuel Macron is “disconnected” for planning to send letters to 29-year-olds urging them to have more children to boost France’s declining birth rate.
“The kind of disconnect between governments and the populace… this is a man who hasn’t had children of his own,” Ms Mollard told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
“People aren’t having babies for multiple reasons; they’ve been, you know, gaslit about the environment, about how scary it is and that they can’t bring children into it, they can’t afford houses.
“Not the way to go about it.”
