Here is a healthy, gluten free recipe for battered fried fish. This recipe is fairly quick to make and it is easy. As the fish is pan-fried rather than deep-fried, it is a more healthy version of your battered fried fish.
The batter is a gluten-free recipe that is just as delicious and crispy as your traditional wheat flour-based batter recipe. I will show you how to make gluten-free, crispy, healthy, and delicious fried fish.
This recipe uses a beer batter for the fried fish but you can use stock instead of beer.
This gluten-free recipe for battered fried fish uses cod, which is the fish traditionally used for fish and chips. You can use another white fish if you prefer.
Ingredients
3/4 cup oat flakes
1/8 cup sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds each
1/2 cup beer, chicken, or vegetable stock
1 tsp. salt, and pepper each
1 tbsp. corn starch
1 egg
3/4 pound cod filets or white fish
Cornstarch for coating the fish
1/8 cup canola or sunflower oil
Grind the oats & seeds, then mix the dry batter ingredients together, then add the beer and egg. Dry the fish with a paper towel, then coat it with corn starch. Get your pan heating with the oil. It should be hot. Coat the fish with the batter mixture and put it in the hot pan. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, flip, then cook for the same time again. The fish should reach 150 F or 70 C. Then it is done.
