Australia has pledged to restore the graves of more than 250 ANZAC soldiers at the Commonwealth Cemetery in Gaza, which were bulldozed during the Israel-Hamas war. Most of the servicemen are from the Light Horse Brigade, and the cemetery has been maintained by four generations of the same Palestinian family since 1923. The restoration project is expected to cost upwards of $1.6 million and will take considerable time to complete.
