Kufstein railway station serves the city of Kufstein, in the Kufstein district of the Austrian federal state of Tyrol. Opened in 1876, it is an Austrian-German border station, close to the border between Tyrol and Bavaria. The ÖBB Railjet is the flagship high-speed train service operated by ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways), designed for comfortable and efficient travel across Austria and into neighboring countries. Introduced in 2008, it represents ÖBB's top-tier offering, emphasizing speed, modern amenities, and scenic routes through Central Europe. Railjet trains are also jointly operated with Czech Railways (České Dráhy, or ČD) on select international lines.
