A major voter list controversy has surfaced in Panskura, leaving a voter in distress during SIR scrutiny. According to reports, Vijaykrishna Bera’s name appeared correctly in the 2002 electoral roll. However, in the 2023 voter list, his name was suddenly changed to “Sheikh Rajesh Ali.”

Shockingly, even in the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) form, his name was altered to Rajesh Ali, and the incorrectly filled form was submitted to the BLO (Booth Level Officer). The discrepancy came to light during scrutiny, prompting the summoning of the BDO (Block Development Officer).

Vijaykrishna alleges that despite repeated applications, his name has not been corrected. He further claims that due to the Election Commission’s negligence, he was unable to cast his vote in two elections. The incident has raised serious questions about voter data accuracy, electoral roll management, and administrative accountability in West Bengal.
