Every surfer in the world knows who Dane Reynolds is. What they don't know is that he and his dedicated filmer, Jason "Mini" Blanchard, have had one of the longest most productive filmer/surfer relationships in the history of the sport. While the surf world knows Dane for his amazing video-based surfing, few people know much about his man behind the camera, Mini, a former pro bodyboarder with a kink for mexican cars and his nickname tattooed on his knuckles. This "Miniseries" takes a lighthearted look at these two improbable characters and their shared history, from the the development of the pioneering website marinelayer.com to the stories behind some of their favorite videos.

For this film series about a filmmaker, Jamie Tierney spent about two months ping-ponging between Dane and Mini's houses in Southern California with his Canon 70D and 24-105mm lens. compared to many Epic videos, the getting the shot wasn't too difficult, but getting the quotes required a keen ear for good stories and keeping both guys comfortable enough to talk about a very close working relationship.
