This keynote is designed for early-career researchers interested in scholarly publishing and authorship as part of their academic career. Publishing now encompasses a broader, more interdisciplinary skill set that includes digital publishing technologies, data curation, open peer review, and research funder mandates on depositing final post-prints in open repositories.
This session features a discussion on the librarian and publisher's roles in supporting authors in the essential steps of planning and writing a scholarly work. Authors have more publication options on how they want to showcase their research in the scholarly literature. You will hear strategies to leverage online resources to assist in the literature search, author high-impact manuscripts, engage in ethical behavior to avoid plagiarism, and find success in publishing.
Presented by Liz Lorbeer, Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Medical Library at WMed.
