28 years ago tonight, one of PBS' finest programs quietly finished airing a critically acclaimed, award-winning 50 episode run. Ironically being funded off the back of the Barney franchise, Wishbone is one of the few kids shows in PBS' lineup that focused on the other fundamentals of reading. By the time it ended, the show about a dog that gets lost in literary classics ended up starting the story of its home network's decline.
