Lots to see here, what an exciting 24 hours!
After chasing the Norfolk Southern Heritage Central of Georgia Engine #8101 north on the Youngstown line, I returned home to find RJ Corman trucks staged near the Pennsylvania Turnpike and heavy equipment in Highland Cut on the former Pennsylvania Railroad Ft Wayne Line (PRR FTW).
The following morning, the Corman crew began removing the cars remaining inside the cut from the derailment earlier this year. After capturing video over a several hour period, I left to chase the CSX Office Car Special on the old Pittsburgh & Lake Erie P&LE and Baltimore & Ohio B&O rail lines.
Once I got a few videos of the CSX OCS, I returned to Highland Cut to observe more of the removal efforts. By early afternoon, all the involved cars were removed to the pull-off area near the road. I understand they will be cut up for scrap & hauled out.
In the late afternoon, the Corman trucks began pulling out with the track loader, excavator, and smaller equipment while the side boom crawlers were loaded in the early evening, to depart the following morning.
