General H. Norman Schwarzkopf was the coalition military commander of Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Known as a General who valued his troops lives he believed in service to his country as his primary motivation. We look at his medals as well as follow his career from West Point to the Gulf.
His mantra was "Duty, Honor, Country". During the Vietnam war he was awarded the Silver Star, bronze Star and Purple Heart amongst other military medals.
