"Synergy" (Insane Demon) by Vlacc, Darwin, Lumpy & more | Geometry Dash 2.11

Описание: This is a megacollab hosted by Vlacc that got released pretty much out of nowhere. As far as I know, there weren't really any previews or anything. I'm pretty sure it's been in the works for quite some time as well. (Edit: 4 years according to Vlacc's description.) That is somewhat visible in the visuals in my opinion. It does look a little outdated in some parts, and while that may inherently sound like a bad thing, I personally like it. I'm a big fan of oldschool design, which is exactly what this is for most of the parts. It seems like that's what the team of creators tried to do. If you look at the list of creators below, you can see a bunch of classic design creators, so this choice makes sense. In terms of block designs, decoration, and overall structuring, I like pretty much every part. I do think some parts feel a bit too monochrome in colors, though, and some parts feel very static and could also use some more pulses or movements to improve that. My personal favorite part is probably the one by Licen and Hinds, seen at 1:56, simply because it does these things very well; it mixes colors nicely and uses pulses to feel less static.

All in all, I think this is a very cool oldschool design level that deserves a lot more attention than it's gotten thus far. This showcase was recorded by Vlacc, so special thanks to him for that. With that in mind, I won't be judging the gameplay here. Visually, I'd say everyone did a pretty good job, even if some parts were built quite long ago. In terms of gameplay, it remains to be seen what people who beat this think, but it's set to be an Insane Demon when it gets rated. Personally, I think it should get an Epic rating if there are no gameplay issues. However, I know that this may be due to my bias towards oldschool design levels due to nostalgia and all that, so I'm curious what you think. Oldschool design levels may not be everyone's cup of tea.
