Their Music Does Not Carry That Whimsy Much Further, Instead Dwelling On Themes Of Misanthropy, Pessimism, Misery, Despair, Grief, Trauma, Abuse, And Some References To "Star Wars."
Founded In Oakland, California In 1994, By Guitarist/Singer GARY NIEDERHOFF, And Drummer CHIYO NUKAGA, Who Would Both Be The Only Constant Members Of A Quickly Rotating Band Lineup, NOOTHGRUSH Trod The Terra-Firma & Rubbed Elbows With The Doom Greats.
In The Band's Initial Iteration, 1994-2001, They Would Release But A Single Studio LP, Five Demos & Eleven Split Releases, And Four Live Albums.
NOOTHGRUSH Would Re-Form In 2011, Touring North America, Europe & Japan, All The While Releasing Archival And New Material. They Are Still Out There, Somewhere, Playing Their Antisocial Music, Releasing Albums On Southern Lord Records, And Generally Flying Low, Under The Radar.
