The Taiwan Miso Culture Museum, located in Fengyuan District, Taichung City, is the first museum in Taiwan dedicated to miso brewing culture. Established in 2010 by WEI-JUNG SAUCECO, the museum carries forward more than 70 years of Taiwanese fermentation heritage and craftsmanship.
Designed with eco-friendly green architecture, the barrel-shaped building symbolizes traditional brewing wisdom. Inside, visitors can explore century-old cedar barrels and wooden koji trays, guided by professional docents through the history, origins, and varieties of miso and other fermented foods. Through hands-on, five-senses experiences and the concept of a “mobile museum,” the Taiwan Miso Cultural Museum connects cultural preservation with local revitalization, showcasing the richness and vitality of Taiwan’s fermentation culture.
