From NBA 2K3 all the way to NBA 2K24, every draft pick, trade, free-agency move, and dynasty has carried over into one continuous alternate NBA timeline. And now… we’re nearing the end, just two days before the servers shut down.

Here’s how wild this universe has become:

Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh were all traded long ago.

Derrick Rose was drafted by the Celtics.

Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Paul George, and LaMarcus Aldridge all started with the Jazz.

James Harden and Russell Westbrook began their careers with the Raptors.

Chris Paul was drafted by the 76ers, spent a year with the Clippers, then ended up on the Pistons.

LaMarcus Aldridge left Utah for the Kings, and Manu Ginóbili left the Spurs for the Pacers.

The Hawks made one of the most infamous moves ever — trading the rights to Kyrie Irving for Jerryd Bayless and Luke Babbitt.

LeBron’s journey alone rewrote history:

Drafted by the Grizzlies

Traded to the Pistons for Chauncey Billups

Left for the Bulls

Finally won his first ring with the Heat, defeating OP Kyrie Irving and the Trail Blazers

More chaos followed:

Kyrie left Portland for the Jazz, while KD replaced him on the Blazers.

DeMarcus Cousins left Steph Curry and Anthony Davis to join the Grizzlies.

Joel Embiid was drafted #2 by the 76ers, while Jokic, still a late 2nd-round pick, returned to dominate with the Nuggets.

Rudy Gobert won Finals MVP alongside Damian Lillard and our longtime guy Kevin Love on the Pelicans.

We eliminated Klay Thompson and the Clippers multiple times — and yes, they still thought Klay could guard Jokic every possession.

Paul George and Giannis beat us in Game 7 to win their first championship.

In NBA 2K21, the story flipped again:

We beat the Clippers (again).

Won the title against the Raptors for the 4th Finals matchup (winning 3 out of 4).

The Nets blew it up, sending Paul George to the Grizzlies and Giannis to the Lakers, forming a superteam with Jimmy Butler and Ja Morant.

We turned down Devin Booker for Zach LaVine… and LaVine still went on to win Finals MVP.

Then in 2K22, Kevin Durant stopped us in the Western Conference Finals and went on to sweep Harden and Westbrook in the Finals.

Now we’ve reached NBA 2K24 — with years of history, rivalries, dynasties, and heartbreak behind us — and the servers are almost gone. One timeline. One save file. One last chapter.

No resets.
No rewinds.
