En 1986 Daewoo Motor lanza al mercado Surcoreano al Lemans en su versión GSE una variante del Opel Kadett E alemán, en versiones Sedan y Hatchback de 3 y 5 puertas. La que conoceremos en Chile en su version Sedan como Racer GLI al llegar la Daewoo a Chile en 1992.

En 1987 llega la version GTE, montado en la misma plataforma pero con un equipamiento y estética distinta, llega en version GTE Salon, Sedan, Hatchback de 3 Puertas y una version deportiva denominada Impact.

Ya en 1988 llega la version Hatchback 5 puertas del Lemans GTE, denominada Penta 5.

En 1989 se presenta la version GSI, cuya estética un poco mas deportiva a las versiones anteriores llega en versiones Sedan y Hatchback de 3 y 5 puertas. Cuya version Sedan y Hatchback de 3 puertas conoceremos en Chile bajo la denominación Racer GSI a fines de 1992 con la llegada de la marca al país.

Ya en 1990 se presenta una actualización estética del Lemans GTE , version que veremos en Chile con la llegada de Daewoo en 1992.

En 1992 se renueva la gama Lemans, y cambian su estética, mecánica y denominaciones. Aparecen las versiones ETI (Básica), STI, GTI, y para algunos mercados la RTI (Full equipo). En versiones Sedan y Hatchback de 3 y 5 puertas. Esta version se hace popular en el mercado Chileno en 1993, con la denominación Racer, en versiones ETI, GTI y STI, en carrocerías Sedan y Hatchback de 3 puertas, ademas de la Pointer destinada al transporte de pasajeros llámese Taxi y/o Colectivo. Ya para 1997 el Lemans es descontinuado del mercado ante la llegada de nuevos modelos Daewoo.
