This temple is located east of Shri Narmada temple through Mai Ki Bagiya on a dirt road about 8 km. away by walking or by bike, or by car. There is a place called Mai Ka Mandap. According to folklore, at this place, Goddess Narmada was going to get married to Brahmaputra Son, but due to obstacles, the marriage could not take place.
Mai Ka Mandap is situated in the middle of dense forests on the banks of the Shri Durga Dhara river and Ama Nala. At this place, there are big rocks of stone which look like drums and dough balls. On seeing them, it seems that this is the truth of man.
This dough ball and drum are the two ponds at this place, which are called Handi Kund. According to folklore, this was like a dowry.
