In January 2025, the price of 10 grams of gold was around ₹78,000. Shockingly, by January 2026, the same quantity has crossed ₹1.85 lakh, marking a rise of over ₹1 lakh in just one year. William Lee believes such a steep rise is historically unsustainable.

However, history shows that when geopolitical tensions ease or global markets stabilize, gold prices tend to correct sharply. Lee warns that a sudden and deep fall in gold prices is very much possible, and investors buying at peak levels may face heavy losses.
