The Alfa Romeo 158 “Alfetta” is one of the most successful racing cars in motorsport history. Originally designed in 1938 for the Voiturette formula (1.5-liter supercharged), it was hidden during World War II and returned to racing in the late 1940s.
By 1950, the car had been refined into a dominant Formula 1 machine. With its supercharged 1.5-liter straight-eight engine producing up to 350 horsepower, it completely outclassed its competition.
The 158 won every race of the inaugural Formula 1 World Championship in 1950, driven by Giuseppe Farina, Luigi Fagioli and Juan Manuel Fangio, securing Alfa Romeo’s place in history as the first ever F1 Constructors’ Champion.
