Distinction in Composition
• What does it mean?
• Achievement Levels (AL) 1, 2, or 3
• 80% and above
• Overall score 32/40
• Typical scores range between 24 to 29


Quick Checklist
 Accurate use of language (grammar, spelling, etc).
 Good choice of story
 Great choice of words/phrases/expressions (e.g. adjectives, similes, etc.)
 Reasonable/logical response to the given situation
 Story is well developed with a sensible conclusion
 Answer the given theme!

• Explore possible plots for any given theme
• Strengthen grammar
• Boost vocabulary
