The Royal Canadian Pacific departed Calgary the day prior, providing passengers with a luxury tour of the Laggan, Mountain and Windermere Subs between Calgary and Cranbrook. In Part I, we caught up with the train at Morant's Curve and followed them across the Laggan, Mountain and Windermere Subs towards Fort Steele. The next morning, the train departed Fort Steele on a deadhead move back to Calgary via Crowsnest Pass. We'll follow the train back towards Calgary, catching them at 20 locations as they traverse the Cranbrook, Crowsnest and Aldersyde Subs.

It was an 1812KM (1125 Mile) adventure for us driving from Edmonton to capture this move, that hadn't happened for several years. The RCP used to operate fairly regularly across this territory, however the regularly scheduled moves have become few and far between, as the train is charter only. Chasing first generation diesels on the mainline in 2025 is worth every kilometer and I hope you enjoyed the video, as much as we enjoyed taking it!
