I've had this kit for a couple of years now and it always surprise me at just how good it is, OK so it's not really a surprise.
DW turned a 1500 year old sunken log from the Olt river in Romania and made 80 kits worldwide including Neil Peats famous R40 kit.
Being so dense the over all tone is dark and the projection is amazing and the one thing that took me a while to et used to was the overall lower tone of the kit especially the bass drum....the low note and low end is amazing.
