BREAKING: Former CBC Host Reveals David Cochrane's Gatekeeping and CBC Liberal Bias — March 10, 2026

Описание: Former CBC host Travis Dhanraj delivered explosive testimony at committee on March 10, 2026, alleging that political access at the CBC was tightly controlled, that interviews were blocked under internal “guardrails,” and that David Cochrane’s Power & Politics had “gatekeeping authority” over which politicians could appear on Canada Tonight. Dhanraj said this was not a one-off incident but a pattern, and he described repeated episodes of Conservatives being blocked from appearing on his program.

Dhanraj told the committee that “booking decisions [were] controlled elsewhere,” that a private internal document called Parameters for Political Guests governed political access, and that he was viewed as “disruptive” when he questioned that control. He also said he was not even allowed to pick up the phone and call to request Pierre Poilievre, and testified that when he asked for conservative perspectives he was told, “It is a no to the Conservatives.”

But his testimony went beyond guest booking. Dhanraj said CBC “silenced and intimidated” him, described a toxic internal culture, and said concerns about centralized control, bias, intimidation, and unequal standards were ignored while he was disciplined, restricted from speaking, stripped of his primetime role, and eventually pushed out altogether. He told MPs that what is happening at the CBC is “not about left or right,” but about systemic control, selective enforcement, and a public institution failing to withstand scrutiny.

Later in the hearing, Dhanraj said there were repeated attempts to prevent balance on air, argued that the network risked feeding public perceptions of bias, and accused CBC leadership of “gaslighting Canadians” by downplaying the seriousness of the problem. He framed his testimony as a warning about what happens when journalists are punished for challenging internal power structures inside a taxpayer-funded broadcaster.

Watch the testimony and judge for yourself: was this standard newsroom management, or a deeper pattern of political filtering, internal gatekeeping, and institutional bias inside Canada’s public broadcaster? This is testimony CBC would rather see buried.
