In this travel guide, we’ll show you the fastest and cheapest way to get from Prague Airport to the city center in under 30 minutes.
Most people land and immediately think, “Let’s just grab a taxi, Uber, or Bolt.” Sure, that works—but honestly? Prague’s public transport is not only way cheaper, it’s usually faster too!
Here’s what you need to know:
✈️ If you’re flying in from a Schengen country (🇩🇪 Germany, 🇫🇷 France, 🇳🇱 Netherlands, 🇧🇪 Belgium, 🇵🇱 Poland, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇸🇰 Slovakia, 🇦🇹 Austria, etc.), you’ll come through Terminal 1.
✈️ Coming from outside the Schengen zone (🇺🇸 USA, 🇬🇧 UK, 🇦🇺 Australia, 🇨🇦 Canada, 🇳🇿 New Zealand, 🇦🇪 UAE, 🇮🇱 Israel, etc.)? You’ll land at Terminal 2.
Either way, once you’re out, find a ticket machine. Grab a 24-hour transport pass—it covers everything: buses, metro, trams, ferries, and even the funicular. Just make sure to validate it before you get on your first ride.
Then, hop on trolleybus line 59. It runs every 5 minutes from 5 AM to midnight. Stay on it until the last stop, Nádraží Veleslavín.
From there, jump on Metro Line A and get off at Staroměstská—boom, you’re in the heart of Prague! ✨👀
