Chef patron Galton Blackiston conducts a number of half-day cookery demonstrations during the year to show guests how certain menus are prepared for harmonious results at the table. Additionally there are two, three-day residential cookery courses. Since these activities are invariably over-subscribed early reservations are essential to avoid disappointment.

Half Day Demo
For all demonstrations at Morston Hall, participants are asked to arrive at the Hall for coffee and homemade biscuits at 10am. The day commences at 10.30am, drawing to a close at around 2pm, followed by a light lunch of something that's been demonstrated and a glass of wine, with of course, the recipe sheets to take home.

Cookery Demos are held throughout the year the current schedule can be found on the diary dates page. The cookery demos have been a great success for many years with enjoyment to be had by everyone.

Three Day Residential Cookery Course
Participants arrive in time for afternoon tea by the open fire and settle in before dinner 7.30 for 8.00pm. Breakfast is served each day from 8.30am, with coffee in the conservatory around 10.00am, where we assemble before going into the kitchen around 10.30am for the demonstrations.

A light lunch, usually something that Galton Blackiston has prepared during the demonstration is served in the dining room with a glass of wine. The rest of the day is then free for participants to enjoy the local attractions before tea, around 4.30pm in the lounges.

Each evening, after dinner, Galton will join the participants for drinks and coffee to discuss the meal and answer any questions that may arise. He will also give out the next day's cookery demonstration recipe sheets which, of course, are yours to take home as reference work.

On departure day, there will be a cookery demonstration, followed by lunch.
