Описание: Framlingham is a picturesque market town in Suffolk, England, known for its rich history and charming atmosphere. The late 12th-century Framlingham Castle, built by Roger Bigod, Earl of Norfolk, is a major attraction. It has imposing stone walls and towers, and it played a significant role in English history. Mary Tudor, daughter of Henry VIII, was proclaimed Queen of England at Framlingham Castle in 1553. The famous singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran grew up in Framlingham, and his song Castle on the Hill was inspired by the castle and the surrounding area. The Mere is a large lake near the castle, managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, which is home to nearly 300 species of plants and 80 species of birds. St Michael's Church, built in the 12th-century features a ring of eight bells and a rare Thamar organ. It also contains tombs of nobles. The town centre hosts markets on Saturdays and Tuesdays, offering local produce and collectibles. Framlingham is a wonderful destination for history enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those looking to enjoy a slower pace of life.
