Transcript:
most people are very dismayed when we
describe the procedure to them but
they're actually very surprised when
they actually undergo the procedure that
it's really not painful and they don't
really feel anything ambulatory
phlebectomy is a procedure where bulging
superficial varicosities varicose veins
or removed after we do in the venous
ablation of the great saphenous or small
saphenous vein if a patient has residual
bulging varicose veins we will remove
those under local anesthesia a patient
will come in and walk around will mark
the varicose veins they'll lay them down
on a table, leg is prepped airily a few
skin Knicks are made no stitch is
required and a tiny hook-like a crochet
hook is used to tease the veins out of
the legs and they come out in short
segments looking like worms and then
once the varicose veins are removed the
leg is fairly well bruised up for a few
weeks afterwards but once the leg heals
they're amazed at how it looks like they
were never there
