He is the former Executive Director of the Concrete Foundations Association, and the producer of the Concrete Home Builders' Trade Show in San Antonio, Texas.

Rog is a consultant, corporate spokesman, guest speaker, and is the author of seven books. He is a recipient of multiple writing awards, including honors from the American Agricultural Editors Association and the Kansas City Advertising Club.

Rog has traveled the United States and the world extensively. He has resided in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santa Cruz, Bolivia, providing him with insight into foreign cultures, and a personal understanding of the challenges of global marketing.

In 2019, Rog joined his wife, author Carolyn Ririe Nielsen, to create The Writers' Marketing Conference, a professional seminar for emerging authors and entrepreneurs. He graduated with a BA degree in advertising and marketing from Brigham Young University.

Rog is an avid reader, a laughter yoga coach, and enjoys fly fishing, wildlife photography, amateur radio and seeing the world with his wife.
