About the speakers:
Duncan Coston – ADAS
Duncan Coston is an entomologist who has worked on agricultural entomology for over 10 years. Having worked extensively on ecosystem service provision from pollinators and natural enemy pest control, to the impact and risks posed by arable pests. His PhD was based at Rothamsted Research and the University of Reading and focused on how to manage autumn pest pressure in OSR with a focus on IPM and a deeper understanding on the biology of the cabbage stem flea beetle in a post neonicotinoid growing system.

Andrew Christie – The James Hutton Institute
Andrew Christie is Field Manager and Agronomist at The James Hutton Institute, Dundee. Alongside work supporting the cereals, potato and soft fruit trials on the 250ha arable research farm, Andrew has been involved in setting up and facilitating a farmer hub as part of the H2020 IPMWORKS project and will be sharing experiences and lessons learned from delivery of on-farm trials, visits and events.

Daniel Leybourne – The University of Liverpool
Daniel Leybourne is a Research Fellow at The University of Liverpool where his research aims to identify and characterise factors that underpin virus and vector success in agricultural ecosystems. This includes identifying biological traits in aphid populations that enable successful BYDV transmission, monitoring aphid populations to identify the emergence of insecticide resistance, and developing sustainable methods for aphid and BYDV management.

Nasamu Musa – ADAS
Nasamu Musa is an early career pest management researcher with experience and training for over a decade. Within ADAS, he conducts work on projects that involves managing arable crop pests. This includes revising pest thresholds, understanding insecticide resistance development, and supporting the development of new technologies such as AI tools for pest identification. He also manages the Pest Evaluation Services and Pest Biology Laboratory at ADAS High Mowthorpe.
