2025 Breeding Season
Sept 24: Exciting owl news! A tawny owl pair was checking out the nest boxes. Was it a new pair or our resident male with a new female?
Sept 22: Sad news – an injured tawny owl was found in barbed wire and had to be euthanized. Still uncertain if it was our resident female.
Sept 21: Male still calling at night; female silent. Waiting to see if it was the resident female or another owl.

2025 Egg Laying & Hatching
Feb 18: 1st egg laid
Feb 21: 2nd egg laid
Feb 23: 3rd egg laid
Mar 3: Damaged egg removed by female
Mar 23: 1st chick hatched (19:32 CET visual confirmation)

2024 Breeding Season
Mar 17 & 19: 1st and 2nd eggs laid
Apr 18 & 20: 1st and 2nd chicks hatched
May 23 & 25: Both chicks left the nest for the branching phase
