🎮 In this video, I build a complete Rock Paper Scissors game in under 30 minutes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — part of the FreeCodeCamp JavaScript curriculum. This is Tutorial 18 in my daily series as I learn to become a full stack developer.
🔥 What You’ll Learn:
How to use Math.random() to simulate computer choices
DOM manipulation with getElementById and querySelector
Event listeners for user interaction (click events)
Game logic and state management using variables
Live score updates and win conditions
Reset button and display toggling with JS
📚 Challenge Overview:
The player competes against the computer. First to 3 points wins. The logic is based on traditional game rules:
Rock beats Scissors
Scissors beat Paper
Paper beats Rock
Tie = No points
You'll learn how to update the UI in real-time, handle game over conditions, and write clean modular functions like getRoundResult, hasPlayerWonTheRound, and resetGame.
🧠 No AI, No Copy-Paste — Just Learning by Doing
If you’re following FreeCodeCamp, or just want to practice vanilla JavaScript, this is a great real-world beginner project.
