A discussion by various instrument manufacturers and service companies about the future of MT acquisition.
This EMinar will be given by a broad spectrum of a number of MT equipment manufacturers and service companies in academia and industry who will discuss the future of magnetotelluric data acquisition. What is coming in the near-, middle and far-terms for instrumentation and acquisition methods.
Some aspects that will be discussed:
Advances in measuring the magnetic field using new novel sensors, for AMT freqs, for BBMT freqs, and for LMT freqs
Advances in measuring the electric field using new novel electrodes, from capacitive electrodes (for high freqs in resistive terrane) to active electrodes (a la Stodt design for the Antarctic)
Advances in filtering, A-D, etc. Is true 32bit near?
Rapid but accurate deployment of MT sensors
Reducing cost of equipment
