Information: Hello everyone! Welcome back to Annul Old Car Festival held at Greenfield Village each year. This year was an exciting adventure! This year we had many old cars in this video. this year we had 2 steam locomotives return this year. This year it was 7 and Edison. They both did outstanding jobs running on the rails. We will also catch 7 be put away for the day. And catch edison do her night runs! I gotta say this is my favorite old car festival so far on the channel. We’ll see what next year brings but this year is amazing is all i gotta say. Edison will be put away now and get ready for Halloween. Torch Lake is in Restoration and will return for Halloween nights with Edison. 7 will continue to run until the last day at greenfield village. This year i will have to go on a Saturday because i have a school event on Sunday. But Saturday will be a better time to go. I will be attending Halloween nights on October 5th, 12th, and 26th. The 19th will be a weekend break. I still can’t believe that the railroad season is almost over already. It’s crazy how fast time goes. Winter railfanning is still on to do this November and December. With 1225 and 152. Thats all the information for this week!
Information about Edison & 7
Manufactured in 1897 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works, Detroit and Lima Northern #7 is a 4-4-0 American type steam locomotive that was used in pulling passenger trains from Adrian to Lima during its revenue service years. It was originally owned by the Detroit and Lima Northern (D&LN) Railway. D&LN #7 would serve Ford for nearly a decade until he donated it to The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan, in 1930. It would remain on static display at the museum for several decades before 2007 when a restoration process began. The process, which took 7 years, prepared D&LN #7 to return to the tracks.
Edison is based on an 0-4-0 switcher locomotive built about 1870 by Manchester Locomotive Works. Henry Ford purchased the switcher from Edison Portland Cement Company in 1932. Mr. Ford had the locomotive rebuilt into a 4-4-0 wheel arrangement by staff at Ford Motor Company's Rouge locomotive shop. Edison later went into regular service on Greenfield Village's railroad.
