This video takes you inside the required skydiver water training course, taught by Omar at Chicagoland Skydiving Center (CSC). The course simulates real-world emergency landings in water while wearing a parachute harness.

Through multiple iterations, you’ll see how each scenario becomes more challenging:

Entering the pool with full gear and removing the harness while treading water.

Managing situations where the canopy lands on top of the skydiver, completely covering them.

Handling simulated currents that twist the canopy around the body, requiring calm problem-solving under pressure.

This training is all about staying calm, thinking clearly, and mastering gear removal while in a stressful environment. It’s a vital safety requirement for skydivers on the path to advanced licenses, and a great reminder of why preparation is everything in this sport.
